Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Complex herbal nose with cassis and subtle oak aromas. Elegant, nice mouth feel and good length. Great match with the food cleansed the palate nicely but not overpowering

Stuart Halliday
Cassis and black fruit. Some lovely varietal characteristics coming through. Dark fruit, firm tannins, well balanced however

Oliver Masters
Medium dark red, dark spice cassis nose, fine elegant liquorice and spice on palate, not enhanced by BBQ Octopus food match

Natasha Hughes
Dark fruit. Lifted character with floral notes. Gently grippy.

Corey Ryan
Brick brown hues, dried herb, complex black olive and leathery aromas. A medium bodied, fresh and thoughtful wine. The wine is well balanced with supportive tannins and good acid line. The wine is enhanced by the food dish, the black olive and complex aromas are highlighted and the tannin profile works well with the rubbery texture of the octopus. A lovely light-medium bodied wine which stands well with or without food.

Matthew Deller
Classical, cooler climate style of cabernet. Primary, Cassis, mint, eucalypt, cedar, clove oak. Fresh, medium concentration with crisp acidity and bright, sappy tannins. Medium length. Food accentuates the oak and tannins, but also brings the elements together
