Judges' Comments

Kym Milne
Deep red col, very lifted florals and some blackberry jam notes. Very ripe flavours, a little stewed in character

Stuart Halliday
Aromatic spiced nose, very pleasant appealing mouthfeel, juicy crunchy acid, medium palate weight and finish

Oliver Masters
Dark young red, spice and black doris plum fruit, gentle soft fruited palate with tight dry tannin finish, nice match and enhanced by BBQ Octopus

Natasha Hughes
Bright, juicy floral wine with sloes and damsons on the palate. Tannins are firm and grippy and there’s a bit of a lifted spicy character on the finish. Demands food.

Corey Ryan
Crimson hues, lifted vibrant blue fruits spicy cherry with a hint of plum. Juicy youthful fleshy wine good intensity richness. Chewy acidity and supportive tannins. Delicious and generous.

Matthew Deller
Dark appearance. Primary, wild black fruits, violet, liquorice, spice. Creamy and quite dense with juicy acidity and strong, chewy tannins. Medium length. Food accentuates the balance, togetherness and completeness of this wine. Very nicely balanced. Fun and tasty example of an interesting cultivar.
