Judges' Comments
Warren Gibson
Fresh and pure. Slightly closed at first. Very ripe and spicy. Sweet fruit. Dry tannins and a lack of weight exposed by the dish

Meg Brodtmann
Juicy red fruit aromas cherry, plum and a hint of spice. Plenty of firm, chalky tannins supporting the red fruit and oak spice. A pretty big wine that remains elegant. Very well matched with the fruit profile enhanced while the elegance is maintained.

Dr Ken Dobler
Intensely perfumed nose with spiced mulberry and white pepper aromas. Attractively weighted palate with those pretty primary fruit flavours and that complex savoury spice dimension which are accentuated by the savoury food.

Brent Marris
Slightly milky oak fruit nose with hints of sweet earthy red berry notes on the palate. Integrated oak with ripe sweet fruit tannins to finish. A lovely complex fruit finish. A good match as the fruit sweetness comes through along with the oak characters.

Ying Tan
Deep red garnet. Very creamy oak and crushed red berries on nose. Med-full, dry, soft ripe tannins, juicy red fruit. Simple. Oak dominated. Dry soft juicy finish. Long.

Sue Bastian
Deep ruby. Quite intense attractive nose of violets and blueberries. Medium bodied, lovely fine tannin with elegant structure and pretty fruits and florals and spice. Good length. Wine fruit flavours dominate dish.
