Judges' Comments
Warren Gibson
Greener nose. Suggestion of under-ripeness but second look better. Slightly edgy style but classical Cabernet blackcurrant with medium weight. A delicious match with the dish. Acidity helping with the length of flavour.

Meg Brodtmann
Delicious cassis aromas with violet cream chocolates and lead pencil. Elegant and fine with a big cassis fruit bomb in the middle of the wine. Firm tannins finish it all off. Well matched but not improved.

Dr Ken Dobler
Deep brick red colour. Nose of black cherry, black olive and cedar. Very savoury palate with restrained primary fruit and a long tannic finish which is much more balanced with food.

Brent Marris
Lovely full minty and ripe berry fruit nose. Hints of cane and leaf on the palate with well integrated oak. Tannins are obvious and the wine finishes with drying red pepper and blackberry characters. Steak works in well with the flavour profile of this wine.

Ying Tan
Dark red. Confected blackcurrant nose. Full, dry, tannic, fairly straightforward blackcurrant fruit on mid-palate. Drying tannins.

Sue Bastian
Dark purple with ever so slight brown tints. Intense, dark plums and dark chocolate, olives, earthy notes. Sweet dark fruits, oak a little apparent. Charry, with puckering tannin. The savoury notes of the wine are a great foil for the dish.
