Judges' Comments
Kym Milne
Complex, cherry and gamey notes, fragrant. Cherry, earthy and savoury with quite a bit of spice. Firm. Quite rich and complex style enhanced with the food.

Stuart Halliday
Pretty and fresh, showing some lovely varietal notes, sour cherry, dusty fine tannins. Lovely juicy acid, cleanses the palate. Some added complexity coming through

Oliver Masters
Medium red with touch of brick colour, nice secondary development on nose, palate light but pretty with good lingering complexity. Good pairing with duck and gained more elegance

Natasha Hughes
Rich, slightly over-developed wine with notes of cola spice on broad, ripe palate. Lacking finesse and length.

Corey Ryan
Brick brown hue, lifted savoury red fruit and wintergreen bunchy aromatics. The palate is focused with good acidity, texture, though a little forward. Chewy slaty acidity refined elegant wine. The wine lacks richness, too savoury and delicate to match with the duck and strong beetroot influences.

Matthew Deller
Medium/pale appearance, with developed bricking rim. Developed, meaty, coffee, autumnal, mushroom, medicinal. Fleshy with good density, crisp acidity. Good length and velvety, austere tannins. Food accentuates the somewhat drying tannins.
